Finally , the wedding bells are on in Nehru-Gandhi family. Indira Gandhi grand son and Sanjay-Maneka Gandhi’s son Varun Gandhi tied nuptial knot with Yamini Roy Chowdhary on Sunday (6th March, 2011) morning in Varanasi.
The wedding ceremony began at 6. 30 am at the Kashi Kankotoshwar temple near Hanuman ghat . It was not a high profile marriage as only some of the close relatives have attended the marriage. But Sonia Gandhi, Rahul and Priyanka did not attend the marriage. The wedding took place infront of Kanchi Shankaracharya Swami Jayendra Saraswat and later blessed the newly wedded couple.
Varun was seen in a silk ‘kurta’ and ‘dhoti’ with saffron orange while the bride, Yamini wore a pink saree. The saree was presented by Indira Gandhi to Maneka Gandhi forty years ago.
Currently, Varun Gandhi is a BJP MP, for Pililibhit constituency in Uttar Pradesh while Yamini is a graphic designer.
